The city is one of kind. The music that you hear playing on the streets shows for that. As I was in New Orleans I never heard two beats of music that sounded the same. The Jazz that played had an upbeat tempo but it didn't go too fast, or too slow. It reminded me a lot of the pace of the city. For as busy as the walkways were, they were easy to maneuver and you could walk at a comfortable pace. You weren't pushed around and rushed or slowed down. Jazz is a very unique type of music which is why it is so fitting for New Orleans. They city spoke to me through the background noise of the music that was constantly playing. It reminded me that there was more to the city than the hustle and bustle of getting to where you wanted to be. It allowed you to relax and enjoy your surroundings. The city has carried on its love for Jazz through many years. This tells me a lot about the city. The way it cares for the originality of the music that is there is similar to the way the city cares for the history of the city. As you walk down Frenchman street you don't hear music coming from a radio or popular hip hop songs. You hear the music the city loves, jazz. Coming from every doorway you can hear the beat of a live band playing their brass instruments and see a crowd of people enjoying what they are hearing.
